   I have over 100 houseplants and one thing they crave in our crazy New England weather is humidity. I love that this Levoit unit is Bluetooth-capable because it makes using it easy and versatile. I like to have the humidifier turn on in the morning and run for 6 hours each day – this unit makes that goal very achievable. It holds a generous 6 liters (1.59 gallons) of water so that I do not have to refill it every day. The program sends an alert to my phone when the tank needs to be refilled or cleaned. I could not have asked for anything better or easier to use! I LOVE this humidifier for my plants.

I called to get help to get my oid working and they were unable to get it working. I believe I was just outside of the 1 year warranty but then offered to send a replacement.    These are great!!! They do an excellent job of bringing the humidity up and maintaining it. The settings are in a touch screen and so easy to read and use. I’m short and in my late 70’s with arthritis in both my hands so I needed a product that was lightweight and easy to use. These humidifiers fit the bill perfectly. To fill with water you just lift off the plastic top and pour the water in. To empty and clean, you just lift the water tank off the base and tip it into the sink. The round cap on the top pulls off for easy cleaning, and both the water tank and the base are easy to clean. I do recommend that, unless you are using distilled water, you clean the tank and base weekly or there will be a build up of scum or whatever it is that gets harder to clean over time.

   Update 9/26/24: After my old humidifier started leaking and died, I bought the LEVOIT OasisMist 1000S. This one has the entire tank at the bottom (which is huge, holds 10liters of water) and the top part that has the screen/humidifier parts that you can remove from the bottom/tank. The tank is just one piece of plastic instead of multiple pieces like my old one so I highly doubt it will end up leaking (knock on wood!). I think I would recommend this one, just because I know the tank is a lot more sturdy than the other one, the tank holds a lot more water (I refill every other day), and it does all the same things the other one did (control with your phone, that kind of stuff). I’ll update if something happens to this one lol Update 3/21/24: Pretty bummed because I really liked this humidifier (I purchased the 300s) but the tank started leaking a few days ago. Bought it and been using it since last November pretty much 24/7 except when I would leave to go out (if I would remember to turn it off lol). The other day I noticed the humidifier was showing the reading of 85% humidity which I knew was way off since I live in Colorado and even when I have the humidifier turned on it rarely gets up to 40% in my room. I noticed there was water all around the tank and on my carpet and I read that off readings on the humidifier was due to the sensor getting wet so I emptied the tank, cleaned the entire thing out plus the base and let it dry for a Cpl hours then filled it back up and ran it again. The % this time wasn’t as high but still off and the next hour or so it kept going down until it got to 40% but then I noticed it going back up. Went to check on it and water was all over the tank again so I knew there definitely was a leak. Put the (almost) full tank in my sink and the next morning there was only 1/4 water left in it. I’m thinking the water is leaking out from where the clear plastic on the sides meets the white plastic on the bottom of the tank. So I’m going to have to change my review from 5 stars to 2 because I only got a couple months out of it before it died. Still going to give it a 2 though because I really did like this humidifier. Being able to control and adjust the settings easily with my phone and it was super easy to clean. Just wish it the tank didn’t start leaking! Also btw in my previous review I said I didn’t notice any sediment/gunk forming in the bottom. I eventually did but it was easy to clean off in the sink with some warm water and a non-abrasive scrub brush. I definitely think changing the filters regularly helped keep that stuff from forming. I’m not so sure about the humidifier drops but I’ll still use them in my next humidifier I just purchased. ———— Love this humidifier. I live in CO where it is super dry especially during winter. I used a couple different ones but they always ended up with gunk/sediment in the bottom so I had to get rid of them. I know it’s better to use distilled water but I’m not paying for distilled water when I have to refill my humidifier every night. I didn’t use one last year and this year my nose and throat were so dry, I was getting nose bleeds and my throat hurt so bad I thought I was actually sick but decided to try a humidifier first to see if it would help. I liked this one because I could control it with my phone and it showed the humidity levels. After plugging it in it showed my rooms humidity level was 30% and having it on for 30 min my nose and throat felt so much better. I like how you can just pick up the tank from the bottom part, carry it to the sink then remove the lid and fill it up, really simple and easy. I also like that it has a filter (and options to buy more) because after a few refills I can see the filter start to change color so I feel like that’s helping keep gunk out from the bottom. I haven’t noticed any gunk/sediment and I’ve been using it continuously now for about two months but I also put “humidifier drops” in the water that I purchased on levoitoutlet.com that supposedly helps stop buildup. Not sure if that is what’s helping. I also like the app. You can turn the humidifier on or off using the app, set a timer, put it on auto (which will turn off the humidifier at a certain humidity level) or set it on manual (where you choose how much moisture comes out). It also shows what the humidity level has been over time in the room you put the humidifier in and the humidifier itself shows on a little screen in front what the current humidity level is. There’s also a light inside the humidifier they call a “night light” you can turn on or off. All in all it’s a pretty neat humidifier. I guess it depends on how dry it is where you live because mine is set to shut off at 45% humidity and it rarely gets to that level so it’s basically on all the time except when I turn it off when I go out. So I usually have to refill it every night which is kind of a bummer but at least my nose/throat/skin isn’t so crazy dry anymore. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a humidifier that they can control with their phone and is pretty easy to refill and use. App set up and pairing was super easy as well.

   I got this humidifier about 6 months ago and it worked beautifully! The gauge on it was correct and if the humidity got to 60% it would automatically stop running. However, last week after doing a proper deep cleaning I noticed it started to leak from the base, and it was also making an odd sound and the base was unusually warm to the touch. I thought perhaps I had not put it back together properly, so I emptied it, took all the components out, put them back in and then it worked fine. A week later it started registering that it was 75% humidity which is above its normal shut off at 60% and it was odd because it was only 9% humidity outside. so that couldn’t have been correct. When the humidity is that low outside normally this unit runs non-stop to keep it at about 40% and then some. I checked it and noticed it was starting to leak at the base again although it wasn’t warm to the touch nor making any odd sound. I called Levoit’s customer service and was on hold for quite awhile, and decided that since it was sold and shipped by levoitoutlet.com to call them instead. The levoitoutlet.com representative was very helpful and said they would honor the 2-year warranty if I would return the unit, which I did, and reordered another unit which I promptly received. I only use reverse osmosis water, so there is no white dust, also I rinse the unit and wipe it out each evening, and deep clean with the vinegar once per week. Therefore, I do not believe there’s any error on my part that caused this unit to malfunction and in looking at reviews I’m not the only one that has had an issue with leaking. Other than that, I think it works wonderfully and I really like it! I do recommend it but hopefully the new unit will last more than 6 months. Good thing they have the two-year manufacturers warranty!

   Purchased the levoit 300S humidifier for a 300st/ft master bed and bath area. Works well and is has a relatively low noise level compared to the 600S with only a slight whistling noise. 300S is also easier to clean than the very difficult 600S. There are a few areas that are difficult to access and descale mainly the area around the secondary float. There is a small water filter on the 300s in the top tank as well. The 300S lacks a few features such as a storage clip on the unit for the included cleaning brush. I find that annoying on a high price unit. The humidifier also lacks a dedicated area for mineral absorption pad. I use the pads for the 600S since I buy them anyway. I’ve see no issue with performance. I’ve used the mineral pad tucked under the float (works best) and placed in the back of the unit (see pictures) you might be able cut them to fit where ever you want as well I’ve never tried it. The mineral absorption pads are worth the money. I have hard water so descaling the unit can be a chore, the mineral absorption pad helps with that as well as the annoying white dust. I normally use water from the fridge filter however I find my ZeroWater filter works best. Only need to do a minimal descaling job every 6 weeks now, with a quick weekly vinegar bath and brush. The Max water line is at the upper handles I didn’t see it on the clear plastic tank had to check the ownes manual. The app is just okay, it has adds that make it less than user friendly sometimes. The offending add sometimes blocks the main screen to access your device and controls, Forcing you to click the small X in the top corner of the add and then choose why you don’t want to see this add. I’m sure They will most likely fix this in a future update. Typically I use the widget for quick on off and run schudules. I have other Levoit products so I am familiar with the app an use it daily. The air purifier doesn’t like the humidifier. When running side by side they purifier would detect the mist and run constantly. I now run them on opposite sides of 5ft dresser top and they do fine together. Overall it is a great unit and works well to humidifi my bedroom. Cons – Medium cleaning difficulty – No clip for cleaning brush – No designated location for mineral absorption pad. – Adds in the app are sometimes intrusive. Pros – Large top fill water tank – Water filter – Full front button controls – Front screen can be turned off for sleep (with the night light on or off) – Cleaning reminders and tank empty notifications from the app. – Ability to use both timers and scheduled on/off times. – Night light with high low and off settings My review is unpaid and I purchased the 300s at full price.

    The 300S really is an excellent humidifier and a great value; my only disappointment is it isn’t quite as easy to clean as advertised, as there are parts of the humidifier than remain inaccessible (and have pink mold on them) that drive me a little nuts. This thing really packs a punch for humidification – on a high setting, it can really humidify a space significantly. It’s even set off my daughter’s smoke alarm because of how misty it made the room, ha. It also holds more water than it looks – I live in a very dry climate and on a relatively high setting (target 54% RH in our roughly 15-20% RH home) we get two full nights out of it. The only disappointment has been the cleaning – I read many reviews before purchasing saying how easy it is to clean, how accessible everything is, etc. etc. and all I can say is there must be some really hard to clean humidifiers out there if this is one of the easiest. I’ve included a photo of its condition after more than 2 years of use, and you can see there is some mineral buildup at the black seal in the base and around the bottom of the mist tube, but, I also don’t bother with distilled water and supplement with little ‘cleaning fish’ (https://a.co/d/6TQEFNb) to help with mineral buildup. So after two years, it’s not terrible and mostly on me for not wanting to buy distilled water 😉 My real beef is with the mist tube – there’s an impossibly narrow and distant part near the base and I have yet to find a cleaning brush narrow and long enough to clean the pink mold out that forms between the tube and its little insert. I’ve honestly considered buying a waterpik just to ‘powerwash’ the thing; my kitchen faucet sprayer on max isn’t strong enough to blast it off. There aren’t many parts to take apart when cleaning but I actually wish it broke down into more so I could access that thing. The other trouble with cleaning is – at least per the instructions – you do a 15-minute soak with 3 cups or vinegar, and then a second 15-minute soak for two small pieces that you just soaked already. So if you’re following the instructions, you’re married to a 30 minute+ cleaning session. I generally do the first soak, then dump the same vinegar back into the measuring cup with the two small pieces in it, and start cleaning the tank and base while those sit there. I rarely have the patience to wait out the next 15 minutes, but it’s still about a 25+ minute job in the end. I use a baby brush and the longest, narrowest wire brush I can find in addition to the small ‘looped’ brush to clean all the nooks and crannies. Keeping gallons of vinegar stocked for this is a bit of a bummer too. Now all that said – per above this thing REALLY works, which is huge. It’s also got just about any feature a person would want out of a humidifier – it has Bluetooth capability with an app but you can also work the intuitive controls without one. You can add essential oils in a little absorbent pad that lives in a small ‘drawer’ if that’s your thing. It’s got an optional timer, an optional nightlight, low/medium/high and auto mode and you can set the desired %RH with an app. I believe the hygrometer is on the bottom, so if you’ve just cleaned it and it gets wet it may be a little out of whack that night. And it’s surprisingly quiet. Even if this cost a lot more it would still be an excellent value – my cleaning neuroses aside, it’s an excellent appliance and has lasted us three years and still works great, despite my not using any distilled water. Just be prepared for the cleaning. 😉
